Games Workshop have joined forces with Steam to give away 12 games for absolutely free. This includes some huge titles, such as Warhammer Total War (including the Beastmen expansion), Vermintide 2 and Space Marine. This is a special offer, included in their official magazine – White Dwarf issue 462. The games included in this offer are:
Dawn of War.
Total War Warhammer.
Total War Warhammer: Call of the Beastmen.
Warhammer Quest 2: The End times.
Talisman: Digital Edition.
Warhammer Underworlds Online.
Armageddon: Da Orks.
Personally, I have put many hours into a few of these games. Total War Warhammer is the ultimate fantasy strategy game. The battles are huge. The campaigns are epic. It’s a great addition to the Total War series, whether you’re a fan of the Warhammer universe or not. This is also a perfect way to begin your Total War Warhammer experience, as the third instalment to the series is out this year! (See our post on it here: Total War Warhammer III).
I played Vermintide 2 for a bit, but not as much as I probably should have. It’s a lot of fun. Think of it like Left 4 dead, but set in a fantasy world. You get to team up with other players to defeat hordes of enemies. The characters are awesome and there’s a deep mechanic to progression and customisation.
Space Marine is probably one of my favourite ever games, with its brutally-blood-thirsty combat system and brilliant story. Dawn of War was pretty much my childhood, as I sunk well over 200 hours into the Command & Conquer like RTS. Talisman is great as a digital RPG board game fix, with dice rolling, random encounters and everything.
As you can see, this is a mighty list of games, all for the price of a £5.99 magazine. These will all be unlocked through Steam using an included code. This issue will be available to pre-order on the 12th of March, over at www.games-workshop.com, and released in stores on the 19th of March. Don’t miss out!
